Sharon Gaber is the chancellor-elect of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. On April 28, 2020, she was announced as the fifth chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Gaber will replace Philip Dubois and become the second woman to lead UNCC. 

Before being the chancellor-elect of the University of North Carolina, Gaber served as the first female president of the University of Toledo, selected to the post on March 12, 2015. Prior to coming to The University of Toledo, Gaber was the provost and the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs at the University of Arkansas from May 1, 2009, to 2015.
