Shawn Anderson is an American journalist working for WTOP as the afternoon anchor from 2 to 7 p.m. He joined the station in 1995 and has served the station for over 15 years.

He secured his first job at WCVI Radio in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, while he was still in high school. There, he did everything, including reporting news, spinning records, and play-by-play sports. However, he is sure that his real radio education came at WCLG AM-FM in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Anderson moved to Washington in 1987 and joined the AP Radio Network. He spent his first seven years there as a sports and news anchor. He then went on a hiatus to write his book, later finding his place at WTOP, where he has remained till today.

During his career, Anderson has received several awards, including an Achievement In Radio Award for Best Newscaster in Washington in 1998. He received a March of Dimes Achievement in Radio Award for broadcasting the Capitol shooting.
