Shay Ryan Biography
Shay Ryan is an American meteorologist working for WFTS as a meteorologist. She joined the station in August 2012. Previously, she worked for WNYW as a meteorologist.

Ryan attended the University of Florida in August 1992 after completing her high school education. When she finished her education in December 1995, she became a graduate and attained a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication. Also, she has a Master Of Science degree in Geoscience emphasizing Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University

Ryan works for WFTS as a meteorologist. She joined the station in August 2012. Previously, she worked for WNYW as a meteorologist. Further, she serves as a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the AMS seal of approval.
She worked in New York City for Fox 5 News and Fox News Channel as a weather anchor. During her meteorologist stints in New York, Michigan, Georgia, and Mississippi, she broadcasted acute storms and record-flooding, as well as heat waves.
During her time in Savannah, she broadcasted Hurricane Floyd and partook in the biggest peacetime evacuation in U.S. history. For 36 hours, she stayed at the Emergency Management Shelter where she reported on significant safety updates and pursued the storm’s path.
A self-proclaimed weather geek, she enjoys the outdoors with her husband and kids during her free time. Also, she loves water and water-related activity. Further, she enjoys cooking, painting and is a home improvement enthusiast.
