Sonya Stevens Biography

Sonya Stevens is a retired American meteorologist who previously worked for ABC4 as a weather forecaster and traffic anchor/reporter. She joined the station in August 2011 as a weekend meteorologist and worked there until her retirement in 2026. She officially stepped away from her television role on March 31, 2026, to spend more time with her family. Despite her retirement, she still does weather updates for the Lowcountry.

Stevens joined North Carolina State University in 1999 after finishing her education at Academic Magnet High School. In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Meteorology. While in college, she was involved with the American Meteorological Society.

From 2003 to 2006, she was a meteorologist at KTAB in Abilene, Texas. She decided that she wanted to be a TV meteorologist while in the 5th grade.
