Star Jones (real name – Starlet Marie Jones) is an American Journalist, Lawyer, TV Personality, Author, and Fashion Designer, who is best known as among the 1st co-hosts on the ABC morning talk show The View, where she appeared on 9 seasons.
Jones is a Women’s and Diversity advocate and a former Brooklyn prosecutor and district attorney. She was among the 16 contestants of the 4th installment of The Celebrity Apprentice in the year 2011, coming in 5th place. Jones’s 1st role on The View was as one of the show’s original 4 co-hosts.
Jones served as a prosecutor with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, N.Y. for 5 years (1986-1991). She was promoted to the senior assistant district attorney. in the year 1992. Court TV recruited Jones to be the commentator for the rape trial of William Kennedy Smith, in the year 1991. She has also spent a number of years as a legal correspondent for NBC Nightly News and NBC’s Today.
Jones has often appeared on The Wendy Williams Show and has worked as a legal analyst for Dr. Phil and The Insider. She was the only journalist to be in a face-to-face interview with Simpson during his civil trial, which she did for American Journal. For a year (September 2004 to September 2005), she was a red-carpet host for the E! television network. There she conducted interviews at awards shows.

The move was his return to the court show genre, having previously served as an arbitrator in the series “Jones & Jury” (1994-1995). Jones & Jury made her the 1st female to preside over arbitration-based reality court shows in particular, and the 1st Black person to preside over her own court show. She is the 1st female to preside over the subcategory of arbitration-based reality programming of the court show.
