Stefanie Lauber is an American meteorologist working for KRIS as the chief meteorologist since she was promoted in December 2025. She joined the station in January 2021 as a meteorologist. Previously, she worked for MyRadar Weather App in Orlando and WCJB-TV20 in Gainesville.
Stefanie Lauber Education
Lauber joined the University of Miami in 2008 after finishing her high school education. She studied Meteorology there until 2011. The following year, she joined Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Meteorology with a minor in Communications in 2013.
While studying at ERAU, Lauber worked as the president of the ERAU Chapter of the American Meteorological Society/ National Weather Association. She joined Mississippi State University in 2014, where she received a Master of Science degree in Geoscience with a concentration in Applied Meteorology in 2018.

Lauber recently worked as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She is a bilingual Latina meteorologist who has a passion for serving the diverse Coastal Bend community. She also has expertise in tropical weather, having tracked more than a dozen storms in the studio and field.
Lauber holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal from the American Meteorological Society. Her passion started during her childhood in Miami because of a love of hurricanes, snow, and an ironic fear of thunderstorms. There, she handled 40+ petroleum cleanup sites across Northeast Florida.
