Stefany Valderrama is an American journalist working for CBS12 News as a bilingual anchor and general assignment reporter. She joined the station in January 2020. Previously, she worked for WSPA in Greenville, South Carolina as a reporter and substitute anchor broadcasting upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina.

Valderrama attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia after completing her high school education. When she finished her studies, she became a graduate and attained a Bachelor Of Science degree in Journalism and a Spanish minor.

During her time in Greenville, she broadcasted the state’s collapsing infrastructure. However, “Bone Marrow for Maci” was her favorite story. Via her reporting, a 1-year-old named Maci was able to get a perfect match donor and underwent a bone marrow transplant surgery that saved her life.
Her career began when she worked in Augusta, Georgia at WJBF broadcasting the CSRA and Aiken County. She earned a nomination and attained an AP Award for ‘Small Market: Best Spot News’ reporting with her photographer for their EF-2 Tornado broadcast.
The tornado devastated the small town of Johnston, South Carolina. After graduating, she helped launch the “MMJ For a Day” program at the university. The program creates opportunities for students to partake in a newsroom setting and work with professionals in the industry.
Since joining the station, she has broadly broadcasted the pandemic and put herself through a vaccine trial. She took the vaccine in hopes of giving viewers clarity about the process of vaccine studies. In January 2023, she was voted ‘Employee of the Week’ by her coworkers.
During her free time, she spends time outside at the beach or pool, listens to a podcast, reads thriller novels, and most importantly takes plenty of pictures of her dog.
