Stephanie Lin Biography

Stephanie Lin is an American Anchor working with KRON 4 News in the San Francisco Bay Area where she serves the station as a News Anchor. She has been working with the station since the year 2022.

Lin works with KRON 4 News where she serves the station as a News Anchor. She now anchors breaking news and live coverage for the station’s 24/7 streaming service, KRONon, and the Weekend Morning Newscasts. The award-winning journalist was previously working with KCRA 3 & My58 Television as a News Reporter and Anchor between 2020 and 2022.

While at KCRA 3 News, she led the station’s coverage of massive demonstrations stemming from the death of George Floyd. She states that her reporting took viewers to the front lines of the state’s many destructive wildfires, which include the Caldor Fire which forced the evacuation of the Lake Tahoe region.

She has also covered President Trump’s response to the deadly Camp Fire, the historic election of the country’s first directly elected Sikh female mayor, and the San Jose VTA railyard mass shooting. Lin states that her questioning of elected officials’ handling of COVID-19 vaccine distribution helped hundreds of seniors gain access to their first potentially life-saving dose. Asides from this, she also sat down with state lawmakers and the FBI to discuss steps to address the rise in anti-Asian attacks and hate crimes in California.

Prior to her journalism career, she developed global marketing campaigns for venture-backed gaming and tech start-ups in the Bay Area. She has also worked in partnership with major entertainment brands, which include LucasFilm, Hasbro, and Marvel on branding integration, and also served as an on-camera spokesperson.

Lin was recognized for her work by the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Asian American Journalists Association, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She is a proud graduate of UC Berkeley and began her news career in Taiwan at TTV, a 24-hour cable news channel.

Lin previously worked with the ABC20/20 News team where she was working on long-form, investigative stories. Asides from this, she has worked on CNBC, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live, and TODAY show. She is a proud Bay Area native and was raised in San Jose. Lin states that she is happy to be home and looks forward to spending more time with her family which includes her Shetland Sheepdog, Merlin.
