Stephanie Lum is an American journalist working for HNN as an evening news anchor at 5, 5:30, 9, 10 p.m. since joining the station in 2001. Previously, she worked for KGMB9 as a morning anchor and general assignment reporter for a year.

Lum joined Seattle University when she finished her high school education. Later, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Journalism. While in college, she spent late nights editing in the lab and gathering stories during the day. Also, she did internships in Washington State and Hawaii.

After graduating college, Lum worked in Guam where she broadcasted her first big story which exposed health risks at a famous restaurant. For her story, she won a “Best Spot News” Award. She also learned how to be an expert by working as a writer, editor, producer, reporter, and anchor of the news. She worked there for 2 years before working for KGMB 9 News.
In 2001, she started working for HNN. For her reports, she received three awards including “Best General News Story”, “Best Series Reporting” and “Best Feature Story.” In 2008, their news broadcast earned an Emmy “Overall News Excellence” Award. In her career, she has broadcast several significant stories including the February 27th tsunami, the October 2006 earthquake, and the coming of President Barack Obama in Hawaii.
