Steve Flowers is an American political analyst at Alabama News Network. He joined Alabama News Network in the year 2008 as a political analyst. He is only found during the annual sessions of the Alabama Legislature and every campaign year when he brings his expert analysis.

After he had graduated from high school, he was chosen Alabama’s Most Outstanding High School Leader. Later on, he joined the University of Alabama where he was a student leader and served in the Student Senate. In 1974, he graduated with a degree in history and political science from the Capstone.

Flowers is currently working at ABC 32 where he serves as a political analyst. At the age of 12, he became a Page in the Alabama Legislature and worked at the school Capitol all through his high school years. He went back to Troy where he was born and raised and started a private business. Flowers began a successful job in insurance and real estate which continues today.

He entered politics in 1982 at the age of 30 and was elected State Representative from Pike County. In that, being his first race, he received the largest number of votes ever cast for any person in a political race in the history of Pike County. He decided not to seek reelection in 1998 after serving 16 years in the Alabama House.

Longshore sustained a perfect attendance record for 16 consecutive years. In 1988, his House workmates passed a resolution naming him the Most Ethical Member of the House and in 1992 he was voted by his teammates as the Most Outstanding Member of the Alabama House of Representatives.
