Steve McCarron is an American Anchor/Reporter working for KOMO News 4 in Seattle serving the station as a Morning Live Desk Anchor/Reporter. He has been working with the station since the month of May 2014.

McCarron works with KOMO News 4 an ABC affiliate as a Morning Desk Anchor/Reporter. He states that he always wanted to work as a journalist the day two Seattle television news anchors visited his 5th-grade class. Later on, after hearing about their passion for meeting new people every day and sharing the stories that affect their lives, he was hooked.
The Kent, Washington native saw him being thrilled to be back in Seattle. He joined the station after two years of working as a fill-in anchor and reporter in Portland, Oregon. On his first day on-air at KPTV, he was a part of wall-to-wall coverage of a 4-alarm fire that destroyed a portion of Woodburn High School.
McCarron also reported on the deadly Clackamas Town Center shooting in December 2012. During his report on a scrapbook full of 1950s photographs that were found in a Forest Grove couple’s laundry room wall which helped reunite a cherished keepsake with its rightful owner, who is a Washington woman who lived several hundred miles away.
McCarron also spent nearly five years working as a weekend producer and reporter in Fresno, California. There, he was on the ground shortly after a destructive pileup involving about 100 cars and trucks shut down a mile-long stretch of Highway 99 near Selma in the year 2007. Asides from this, he also reported near the frontlines of numerous devastating wildfires and the economic impacts caused by the region’s crippling drought.
One of his most memorable moments was meeting a three-year-old girl whose family benefited from a unique program that provides free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions. Later on, after a few weeks after his story aired, she passed away. Later on, her family decided to play his story at her memorial service because it captured some of her final days.
After his graduation, he spent about five weeks as an intern in Spokane which was before getting the call to report at KAPP-TV in the Yakima Valley. He kick-started his career on his birthday in the year 2004. McCarron was named weekend co-anchor and also helped launch the station’s dual market weekend newscasts in January 2006.
Away from work, she enjoys exploring new hiking trails, entertaining friends, trying out new restaurants and beers/wines, watching movies, and traveling. In his time working in Central California, he has hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. Asides from this, he also participated in several half-marathons. He now lives in Seattle with his fiancé. McCarron is always looking for an incredible story to share.
