During his stint with Hawaii News Now, Uyehara went on assignment in Rome for the dedication of St. Damien, New Orleans for the Warriors’ Sugar Bowl arrival, and flew with Blue Angels. Also, he went to Notre Dame and New York to broadcast Manti Teo’s career. For a year, he and the Sunrise team took the show to Hilo.

However, he had the most fun when broadcasting UH Football with the June Jones & Coach Mac Shows.
