Steven Dial Biography
Steven Dial is an American journalist working for KDFW FOX 4 as a reporter and host for “Texas: The Issue Is” since joining the station in July 2019. Previously, he worked for KSHB-TV 41 Action News in Kansas City, Missouri, for 2 years.

Dial joined Claflin University, the first Historically Black College in South Carolina, after finishing high school. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While in college, he served as the SGA President.

While growing up in Georgia, he was the kid who always asked many questions and got in trouble for talking too much. After college, he landed his first reporting job at WLTX in Columbia, South Carolina. He received an Edward R. Murrow Award for reporting on concussions in middle and high schools while in South Carolina.
Following his stint in South Carolina, Dial moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he joined First Coast News in 2015. There, he broadcast the church shooting in Charleston, Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Hurricane Matthew, and the Pulse Nightclub mass shooting. He won an Emmy Award in 2016 for covering coaching salaries and education.
Dial moved to Kansas City, Missouri, after Jacksonville. In Missouri, he reported for KSHB, covering politics in Kansas and Missouri. He was the lead reporter during the sex scandal and resignation of Gov. Eric Greiten. He also broadcast several tornadoes and a historic flood. Besides her work on TV, he serves as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.

Even so, he has not disclosed more information about his parents, especially his mother.
