Steven Montiero Biography
Steven Montiero is a prominent American Journalist working as a news anchor for WKMG News 6. He joined the station in October 2017. He is better known as “Trooper Steve” joining the station’s morning team as its Traffic Safety Expert. There, he serves as an anchor every weekday morning from 5 am until 7 am and on News 6 at 9 am. Steven brings a wealth of knowledge to Central Floridians including extensive traffic safety experience, law enforcement tactics, crisis negotiations, weapon knowledge, and military operations.

Later, he was assigned to the Florida Highway Patrol Motorcycle Unit where he began doing public speaking engagements and found his passion for community involvement. From that experience, he became the face of FHP in Orlando. Lt Kim Montes took him under her own g and made him assistant Public Affairs Officer. From November 2005 to November 2009, he worked for the United States Air Force as a Security Forces. His security forces/military police assignments included the Republic of South Korea Tyndall AFB, FL Camp Bucca, and Iraq.
