Nayak is an interior designer and television personality. She is among the nation’s topmost interior designers and rose to fame as a design expert member on Food Network and HGTV and owns a successful, Boston-based interior design firm known as Taniya Nayak Design, Inc which she founded in 2005. Over the years, she has served as a designer and host for a number of HGTV mainstays such as Urban Oasis in Boston, House Hunters on Vacation, Billion Dollar Block, and Designed to Sell. In addition, she has been a featured designer on Robert Irvine’s Food Network series known as Restaurant: Impossible. While she was on Restaurant: Impossible, she used her design skills to deliver and modify restaurants.
Furthermore, with successful shows on both HGTV and Food Network, she quickly became a respected and famous television interior designer. In 2015, she was chosen personally by Ellen Degeneres for her home product line called ED On Air which was featured on QVC. Since 2016, Taniya has been serving as the co-host of The Great Christmas Light Fight series on ABC. A number of Taniya Nayak Design, Inc designs have been seen in new construction development Treadmark Condominiums, a number of new Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse locations, restaurants such as; Bostonia Public House, Tavern & Table, The Poynt, Yellow Door Taqueria, and Door No. 7, and a number of new construction homes of legendary athletes including; Cam Neeley and Bruin’s Patrice Bergeron.
Not long after she had attended Boston Architectural College where she graduated with a master’s in interior architecture, she was able to secure a job on ABC Family’s Knock First for her design style and upbeat personality. In addition, she was one of the four designers and co-hosts of the hit show, and later on, she move to HGTV where she was on Designed to Sell as a designer. While she served as a designer on Designed to Sell, she assisted homeowners to add value and preparing their homes for the market.
Furthermore, she has assisted in decorating tips that have been featured in; Better Homes & Gardens, Design New England, Family Circle, Architectural Digest India, Ladies Home Journal, People, Cosmopolitan, HGTV Magazine, Redbook, Glamour, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, and many more. In addition, she made an appearance on CBS’ The Early Show & The Talk, ABC’s Good Morning America & The View, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, and NBC’s Today, and was a regular guest on Rachael Ray.
In addition, Nayak was ranked in the top 10 of INDIA New England’s Business Women of the year 2004 and also nominated again in 2017. The ASID New England honored her with an Excellence in Design award in April 2011, in addition to her serving on the advisory board for her alma mater Boston Architectural College. Furthermore, she is an active volunteer in raising funds for charitable organizations such as; Charlotte’s Run, Room To Dream, Find The Cause Breast Cancer Foundation, Akshaya Patra, Habitat For Humanity, No Kid Hungry, BAC Spring Gala, Together She Can, and Smile Train.
