Taylor Petras is an American journalist working for WINK News as a morning anchor. She joined the station in June 2018. Previously, she worked for KMIZ in Columbia, Missouri, as a reporter and weekend anchor for 3 years.

Petras attended the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University after completing her high school education at Canon-McMillian High School. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a Sociology minor. During her summer breaks, she served KDKA in Pittsburgh and WPTV in West Palm Beach as an intern.

Petras works for WINK News as a morning anchor. She joined the station in June 2018. Upon joining the station, she initially worked as the Lee County Sheriff’s Office beat reporter. A year later, she joined the station’s weekend news team as an evening anchor while still reporting three days a week. For two years, she held the weekend anchoring role before earning a promotion to work as a full-time anchor for WINK News This Morning. In 2019, she received a nomination for an Emmy for her reporting about a bomb squad search at a home in Cape Coral.
Before Southwest Florida, she worked for KMIZ in Columbia, Missouri, as a reporter and weekend anchor for 3 years. During her time in Columbia, she anchored and produced the weekend evening newscasts as well as reported three days a week. Further, she broadcasted everything including the Fall 2015 protests at the University of Missouri, the surge and fall of former Missouri governor Eric Greitens, and the 5-year anniversary of the Joplin tornado. She says that meeting new people and learning something new on a daily basis serves as her favorite part of journalism.
