Taylor Winkel is an American Emmy award-winning journalist working for KCPQ FOX 13 Seattle as a weekend morning anchor and reporter for Good Day Seattle since joining the station in June 2023. Previously, she worked as a morning news anchor for KRNV News 4 in Reno, Nevada, for 3 years.

Upon completing high school, Winkel attended Washington University in 2012, where she graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Journalism. While in college, she was the vice president of the Society of Professional Journalists-University of Washington Chapter.
Winkel received the Hearst Scholarship from the University of Washington Communications Department. Moreover, she won the Cassie Lawrence Bryant Scholarship for outstanding journalism. She also interned at several local media outlets. She started her career in television as a newsroom intern for KING 5 in Seattle, where she learned the significance of storytelling to broadcast news.
During her career, Winkel has broadcast mass shootings, border and migration issues, and fatal natural disasters. She enjoys reporting on stories that bring closure, understanding, or a new perspective. One of her favorite parts of her job is helping people understand what’s going on in their cities, neighborhoods, and communities.
