Thunderstorm Artis is an American singer/songwriter who is best known for being one of the contestants of the Voice Season 18. He started on Team Legend but was stolen by Nick Jonas in the Knockouts round. On blind audition, he sang “Blackbird” by The Beatles, which has over 6 million views on YouTube.

Artis learned to play piano, guitar, harp, and percussion at a very young age from his father and mother. He is a featured artist at the “Wanderlust Festivals” throughout North America and is currently on a solo tour of the West Coast. Artis has also played guitar with Jack Johnson, Booker T, and Mick Fleetwood, and opened recent tours with G Love, and Mike Love.

Artis comes from a family of musical artists and grew up in a large musical family with 10 siblings on the shores of Oahu. His father, Ron Artis, was a Motown musician who performed the keyboards on Michael Jackson’s iconic track “Thriller” in 1982.

Artis’ family formed a band and would perform at their father’s art gallery, attracting tourists from all over the world. His mom, Victoria, was also a member of the Motown family and performed as a vocalist with Lena Horne, and many other Motown greats.

Sadly, his dad passed away suddenly after suffering a heart attack in 2010 when he was just 13 years old.
