Tiffany Alaniz Biography

Tiffany Alaniz is an American Morning News anchor and reporter working for Fox23 News. Alaniz grew up in Tulsa, where her parents still reside, and graduated from Jenks High School. She got her degree in Broadcast News Journalism from the University of Kansas.

Tiffany Alaniz Career

Alaniz began her career in 1995 in Topeka, KS as a part-time reporter at KTKA. In 1997, she moved to Joplin to launch a 1-decade career at KSNF. During that period, she worked as a weekend anchor, reporter, morning show, and noon news anchor. She spent most of her time as the 5, 6, and 10 o’clock evening news co-anchor.

In January 2011, Alaniz became the main anchor at KODE in Joplin anchoring the 5, 6, and 10 o’clock news. That May, one of the most fatal tornadoes in history hit Joplin. 161 people lost their lives due to the storm and nearly 8,000 structures were destroyed. She said that was the most difficult day of her career. Alaniz was in the field moments after the storm hit reporting on the emergency response and recovery.

In the years that followed, Alaniz has continued to share the stories of those who overcame unimaginable loss and how they rebuilt their lives. Alaniz earned two for an hour-long show she wrote and produced: Behind the Scenes of the Extreme Home Makeover Build: The Joplin Edition. She as well covered Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma for Nexstar Broadcasting.

Alaniz always had a passion for news and feels honored to tell the stories of others. She finds inspiration in the elasticity of people, as they share their trials and triumphs with all of us. When she is not working, she spends time with her daughter Whitley, family, and friends. She as well spends time volunteering, including many breast cancer charity events and fundraisers. Alaniz is looking forward to getting involved in the Tulsa community with her daughter.
