Tim Owens is an American journalist working for KTAL/KMSS as the sports director. He has been broadcasting sports in the Shreveport area since 2014. Previously, he worked for WATE-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee broadcasting the University of Tennessee for 30 months.

Owens studied at Ashland University and later received his Bachelor’s degree when he graduated. He works for KTAL/KMSS as the sports director. He has been broadcasting sports in the Shreveport area since 2014. During his time in East Tennessee, he broadcasted Jeremy Pruitt’s dismissal, the Orange Bowl, multiple High School State Championships, and the employment of Danny White and Josh Heupel.
Owens provided exclusive content while leading the WATE Sports Unit. He has sit-down interviews with multiple pivotal members of the Tennessee Baseball triumph like Volunteer Fireman Ben Joyce, head coach Tony Vitello, and catcher Evan Russell. He traveled the SEC with Heupel and the Vols during football season. Before WATE, he worked for KTAL as a sports director for six and a half years. During this time, he helped launch the G-Men Nation, Saturday Night Blitz, and develop the Friday Night Blitz to its present format.
