Tom Tefertiller is an American meteorologist working for CBS 7 News as the Chief Meteorologist for First Alert 7 in West Texas. He joined the station in December 2015 and has served the station for over half a decade. Previously, he worked for KWES as the chief meteorologist for 2 decades.

Tefertiller joined Texas A&M University in 1987 after finishing his high school education. In 1990, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and Geography. He then joined Stephen F. Austin State University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs in 1992. Subsequently, he joined Mississippi State University, where he obtained his Master of Science degree in Geosciences and Broadcast Meteorology.
