Tony Aiello is an American reporter and anchor working for WCBS-TV in New York City. He joined the station in October 2002.

Aiello serves as a CBS2 general assignment reporter where he aims on enclosing breaking stories and news. He has also been nominated and received several awards including the 2020 NY Emmy Award for General Assignment Reporting. Ever since he started his journalism career, he has had to go to different states and countries including Rome where he reported Live from St. Peter’s Square after the election of Pope Francis in 2013. He also went to Paris a few hours after the terror attacks of November 2015 to lead CBS’s coverage.
Aiello had also worked for other stations prior to him joining CBS. For instance, he previously worked for WNBC-TV where he served as a reporter for about 5 years. Prior to his tenure at WNBC-TV, he previously worked for Dow Jones Television as a correspondent and “The Wall Street Journal Report.” Furthermore, he also spent several years working for stations all across Nashville, TN., Milwaukee, WI., and Greenville, SC where he served as a reporter and anchor.
Aiello is also very much active when it comes to serving the people of his community. For instance, he is active in Italian-American charities like the Italian-American Forum of Westchester County. He is also a former board secretary of the Westchester Philharmonic and trustee of ArtsWestchester. He is also very proud to represent CBS2 in community events in raising awareness and funds for groups including the March of Dimes, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence.
Aiello was asked to be the leader of Westchester County’s official ceremony in 2002 marking the first anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. In addition to that, he also issued keynote speeches for groups including the Sons of Italy, the Enrico Fermi Scholarship Foundation, and the National Parks Service. He attended Indiana University where he attained his bachelor’s degree in 1985.
