Tony Mainolfi Biography
Tony Mainolfi is an American meteorologist working for WESH as the chief meteorologist. He joined the station in May 2005 and has served the station for over a decade. Previously, he was the chief meteorologist at WCHS in Charleston for nearly a decade.

Mainolfi was vital in assisting in rescuing lives during central Florida’s fatal Groundhog Day tornado outbreak on February 2, 2007, which claimed 21 lives. This was the area’s second-most fatal tornado outbreak in recorded history.
Mainolfi is devoted to protecting the people of Central Florida from severe weather. He has delivered reports from the eye of hurricanes with hurricane hunters and traveled to Alabama to broadcast the great tornado outbreak of 2011. He has the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation and the National Weather Association Seal Of Approval.
During his career, Mainolfi has won multiple awards for his work including four Emmy nominations for broadcasting the central Florida Groundhog Day tornado outbreaks and three for broadcasting severe weather in West Virginia.
