Travis Koshko is an American meteorologist working for CBS 19/FOX Virginia as the chief meteorologist. His forecasts appear on CBS19 News at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. and on FOX Virginia News at 10. Before moving to Charlottesville in January 2008, Koshko worked in Johnstown at WWCP / WATM as the chief meteorologist for eight years.

Koshko completed Penn State University’s meteorology program and works for CBS 19/FOX Virginia as the chief meteorologist. His forecasts appear on CBS19 News at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. and on FOX Virginia News at 10. His roots in weather can be traced back to when he was born. He was almost born in the back of a 1973 Volvo on the way to the hospital because of the eight and a half inches of snow that had fallen. He has always been interested in the mechanism behind the atmosphere.
Before moving to Charlottesville in January 2008, Koshko worked in Johnstown at WWCP / WATM as the chief meteorologist for eight years. There, he developed a respect for lake-effect snow and very long winters. He also developed the program “Where’s Koshko.”
Koshko served Mount Aloysius College in nearby Cresson where he taught a natural disasters course. He also taught firefighters how to apply meteorology in both firefighting and Hazmat situations. He serves as a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. The National Weather Association granted him its Seal of Approval for Television Broadcasting. Hailing from York, Pennsylvania, he is thrilled to call Charlottesville his home.
