Tre Ward is an American journalist of African descent working for WLS ABC 7 Chicago as a per diem reporter. He joined the station in October 2021. Previously, he served WBAL NBC 11 in Baltimore, Maryland as a news reporter specializing in live, developing news stories for 2 years.

Previously, he served WBAL NBC 11 in Baltimore, Maryland as a news reporter specializing in live, developing news stories for 2 years. During his time in Baltimore, he contributed to the station’s regional Edward R. Murrow Awarded broadcast of the death of Congressman Elijah Cummings.

Before Baltimore, he worked in Louisville at WLKY and in Huntsville at WAAY as a news reporter. His journalism career started when he worked in Davenport, Iowa at KWQC as a news producer. While in Davenport, he produced and wrote day-to-day newscasts.

Ward, a Chicago native, loves to dance, read, write, and debate which Marvel movie is the best. When he was young, he frequented the Bud Billiken Parade. Among his favorite memories is being advised and encouraged by then-aspiring Illinois Senator Barack Obama at the age of 5.
