After his time at The Lion King musical, Jackson moved to the small screen from Broadway, playing a guest role in an episode of Cold Case in 2010. Jackson signed with Atlantic Records in 2012, releasing his first single Like We Grown in February 2013. In the song’s music video, Zendaya Coleman, stars as his love interest. As the demand for his songs, he worked with producers, Eric Hudson, J.R. Rotem, and The Underdogs, to create his EP, #NewThang, which he released in September 2013.
After releasing #NewThang, Jackson released his second single Drop It. McDonald’s featured the song in its Monopoly Campaign commercial. In efforts to promote his EP, he toured alongside Atlantic Records artist Justine Skye on the High School Nation Tour.
2014 to present;
Jackson released New Thang in January 2014 and followed up with a remix to his single Drop It with rapper B.o.B. In May of that year, Diggy Simmons featured him in his single, My Girl. That same year, he released Good Girl, Bad Girl and posted a lyric video to a track with Kirko Bangz on his official YouTube called Me Likey before its release on iTunes.
In partnership with Diggy Simmons, Jackson went on the Who Else But Us Tour. Further, he debuted the video for I’ll Be Who You Love (This Christmas) on Rap-Up on December 3, 2024. Subsequently, he released his single, Know Your Name, featuring Sage The Gemini on December 15, 2014. Additionally, he made a guest appearance on VINE and vocalist LianeV’s new single Keep Playin.
Jackson released his full-length album in the summer of 2015. In early August, he distributed the tracks on his YouTube channel and SoundCloud for streaming alongside a visual for the song Simple As This. On August 2, 2015, he distributed the In My Feelings project on iTunes. In September of that year, he marketed the music video for Bang Bang featuring Kevin Gates. In March 2013, Jackson endorsed Snoop Dogg’s anti-violence “No Guns Allowed” campaign by distributing his cover of Snoop Lion’s single No Guns Allowed. The next month, he served as a volunteer in Chicago at the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
On July 29, 2013, Jackson partook in the Strike Out Cystic Fibrosis’s Bowling Charity Event. In August of that year, he worked as the host of the Duffy’s Hope 11th Annual Teen Youth Empowerment Summit in Dover, Delaware, benefitting the youth with mentoring, health, and education. He has also worked with NBA Cares and The League of Young Voters Education Fund.
