Von Gaskin is an American meteorologist working for WIS10 as a meteorologist since joining the station in April 2010. Previously, she worked as a meteorologist for Media General for 2 years.

Gaskin joined the University of South Carolina in 1997 after finishing her high school education. In 2001, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. The following year, she joined Mississippi State University, where she earned her Master’s of Science in Geosciences/Broadcast Meteorology.

She is an ardent hurricane and severe weather forecaster who could spend all her time studying the formation of tropical systems and the steering currents that guide them.
Gaskin knew she wanted to be forecasting in 1998 when Hurricane Hugo slammed into South Carolina. She was a meteorologist during the record-breaking 2005 hurricane season. She is proud of being involved with her community and volunteering for local organizations. In addition, she serves as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
