Webb Wright Biography
Webb Wright is an American journalist working for ABC4 as a weekend news/sports anchor and multimedia journalist since joining the station in August 2023. Previously, he produced local content for WDSI FOX61/The CW Chattanooga/MyNetWorkTV Chattanooga/MeTV Chattanooga for 2 years.
Webb Wright Education
Wright joined Francis Marion University in 1990 after finishing his education at South Florence High School. In 1994, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature/Letters with minors in Mass Communications and Political Science.
While in college, he worked for Phil Kornblut at the South Carolina Radio Network. Also, he was a weekend photographer at WIS-TV in Columbia. He joined the University of South Carolina in 1997 to further his studies, where he studied Mass Communication/Media Studies until 2000.

Wright works for ABC4 as a weekend news/sports anchor and multimedia journalist. The South Carolina native is thrilled to return to South Carolina, closer to family. He spent numerous years in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he was a news photojournalist and sports reporter at WDSI Fox 61.
Following his time in Chattanooga, Wright was a weekend sports anchor at WRCB and a weekend sports/news anchor and multimedia journalist at WDEF News 12. At the time, he worked as a feature host of “Possum Picks.” In this role, he chose football games against Peanut the Possum from the Chattanooga Aquarium and multiple other animals from the Chattanooga Zoo.
Wright later served the Fox affiliate, where he did long-form sports features for the local high school sports show and halftime of televised high school football games. He recently worked as a photojournalist for WTVC. There, he earned awards from the Tennessee AP and the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters.
