Wendy Osefo Biography
Wendy Osefo (real name – Wendy Onyinye Ozuzu) is a Nigerian-American Public Affairs Academic, Political Commentator, and TV Personality who is best known for starring in the series, “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” She is excited to be part of the reality show.
Osefo is also an entrepreneur, political analyst, and professor. She serves as an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Education where she specializes in politics and urban education. Osefo also serves as a contributor for “The Hill,” and as a political analyst on national cable news and runs a candle business.
Additionally, Osefo is the founder and chief executive officer of 1954 Equity. She is looking forward to opening a Nigerian-themed lounge. Osefo has worked for “DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative,” Pres. Obama’s anti-poverty initiative, as the Director of Family and Community Engagement. In the year 2014, Osefo worked for the Masters of Arts in Management Program at Goucher College as the inaugural director.
She has a strong personality and knows how to hold her own and speak her mind when standing up to other women. Her life and upbringing illustrate the ultimate immigrant journey. She has discovered firsthand the value of working hard and never thought of failure as an option. Ther she provides resources, mentorship, and tools to underrepresented minorities to assist them to flourish in higher education. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. During Osefo’s leisure, she likes to travel to exotic destinations and cook.

Osefo is a proud graduate of Temple University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She is also an alumnus of Johns Hopkins University where she earned a Master of Arts degree in government. Osefo also finished an M.Sc. in public affairs with a focus on community development from Rutgers University–Camden, in the year 2012. After 4 years, she became the 1st Black woman at Rutgers University to obtain a Ph.D. in community and public affairs. Osefo’s dissertation was titled “Engaging low-income parents in schools: beyond the PTA meeting.” Her doctoral advisor was Gloria Bonilla-Santiago.
