William Joy is an American two-time Emmy award-winning general assignment reporter who is working at WFAA in Dallas, Texas. He specializes in covering Tarrant County from the Fort Worth bureau. In addition, he joined the WFAA team in January 2020.
William Joy Career
Previously, he worked at KMBC, the ABC station in Kansas City, Missouri from December 2017 to January 2020 as a reporter. William also worked at WAVE 3 News in Louisville from September 2015 to 2017, and while he was at the station, he served as a reporter and multimedia journalist. In addition, he has also worked at Live 5 News in Charleston, South Carolina where he also served as a reporter and multimedia journalist. Furthermore, Joy worked at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri where he served as a reporter and anchor from January 2013 to May 2014.
Furthermore, over the years, he has covered everything from The Masters and the Kentucky Derby, devastating tornadoes across Kansas and Missouri, The Masters to the passing of Muhammad Ali, and the Emanuel AME massacre. Joy joined Ensworth School in 2006 and graduated in 2010. Later on, he joined the University of Missouri-Columbia where he graduated magma cum laude in 2014 with a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism.
