Chris Byers is a semi-retired American journalist working for KLUR 8 as a fill-in and a featured reporter. He joined the station in February 1983 and has served as the sports director for more than 3 decades. Additionally, he serves SWX at 10:30 Monday through Friday on its sports team. Previously, he worked for KKTV in Colorado Springs.

During his career, he has received multiple awards and honors for his sports broadcasts. In 1995, his program, Big Sky State Games Wrap-up was named d Montana’s “Program of the Year.” The following year, he was named Montana’s “Broadcaster of the Year.” From 2004 to 2011, EB Craney named him “Montana Sportscaster of the Year.”
