Eric Davis Biography
Eric Davis is an American Meteorologist working for WECT-TV serving as a senior meteorologist and a weeknight meteorologist at Fox Wilmington. Previously, he worked as a meteorologist at 5,6, and 10 pm on KATC-TV.
Eric Davis Education
Davis completed high school at Broughton High School before later enrolling at North Carolina State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 1995. He then furthered his studies at Graduate School: Mississippi State University where he learned Geosience in 1996. During his time at University, Eric worked as an assistant teacher where he taught Satellite Meteorology courses and Physical Geography.

Davis serves as a senior meteorologist at WECT-TV and a weeknight meteorologist at Fox Wilmington, North Carolina. He has been with the station for more than one decade since he joined in April 2014. While at WECT News, Eric has covered every major weather event that has occurred in the region and has provided content for social media. Before joining WECT-TV, he worked as a meteorologist at 5,6, and 10 pm on KATC-TV. Davis also covered extensive weather events including Tropical Storm Bill, Hurricane Lili, and Tropical Storm Allison. Besides this, he also created and designed animations and graphics with WSI Weather Producer.
Previously, Davis worked for KRBC-TV, the NBC affiliate as a Chief meteorologist from September 1998 to January 2001. While there, he was in charge of various roles such as training, managing, and updating aging weather technology with new Live Line Genesis weather graphics. Prior to working for KRBC-TV, Eric worked as a chief meteorologist at WTAP-TV the NBC affiliate. He also anchored the weeknight weathercasts at 6 and 11 pm, scheduled work shifts, and managed the weather department.
Eric began his professional career at KEVN-TV, the FOX affiliate where he worked as a Noon meteorologist from June 1996 to July 1997. He also anchored the noon weathercasts at 7 am and helped the chief meteorologist to advance weather graphics. Before working at KEVN-TV, Davis served as a weather intern at WTVD-TV from September 1993 to August 1995. During his tenure at WTVD-TV, he covered live breaking news and worked together with meteorologists in preparing weather graphics. Apart from being a journalist, Eric is also a board member of the Phoenix Employment Ministry.
