Aaron Brackett Biography

Aaron Bracket is an American Broadcast Meteorologist working for KFOR. He joined the 4Warn Storm Team in September 2013.

Aaron Brackett Education

Brackett attained his degree in Meteorology at Valparaiso University in Indiana. This was after he graduated from high school in Rockford, Illinois. He also holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal from the American Meteorological Society.

Aaron Brackett Career

Brackett is working for KFOR as the broadcasting meteorologist. He had worked with other networks prior to joining KFOR. Previously, he worked for KGUN in Tucson, AZ, and WREX in his hometown of Rockford, IL. While still in Indiana, he managed to take part in three 11-day storm chases on the Great Plains and also was the Director of Valparaiso University’s Storm Intercept Team.

Brackett was also interned by Tom Skilling, WGN’s famous meteorologist in Chicago hence getting to know more about the forecasting career and experience. During his time at the university, he nonetheless worked for the inaugural year of VUTV as an on-air personality and mentor. The gentleman covered an EF-3 tornado that devastated northern Illinois in 2008, and his coverage attained national recognition on MSNBC.

Brackett landed his first on-air job when he was in his senior year at Valpo, whereby he was commuting three hours each way to give the weather to his hometown on NBC affiliate WREX. He was then given a raise to a weekday morning meteorologist after working for the station for a year.

Brackett worked for KGUN  where he forecasted everything from blizzards to Monsoon rain. He knew he wanted to be a meteorologist the day he watched one of Oklahoma’s worst severe weather outbreaks in 2013. Brackett reported on our state’s severe weather in Arizona. Lastly, he moved to Tucson in 2011 after he watched what was happening in Tucson and wanted to use his skills to help save lives.
