Aaron Brown Biography

Aaron Brown is an American anchor/reporter/producer, weather forecaster, and manager, known for having worked for KGWN as an evening anchor from September 2016 to December 2022. His most recent role there was news anchor/reporter and weather forecaster. He joined the KGWN team as a reporter, and later on, he served as a weather forecaster. He left KGWN in December 2022.

Brown left KGWN for a job at Visit Cheyenne in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he serves as a Marketing and Experience Manager. Wyomingite is Aaron’s native home and he was brought up in Cheyenne before his family relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico after he graduated from East High School. While he resided in New Mexico, he worked at New Mexico Air National Guard (NMANG) where he served as a Broadcaster with the 150th Special Operations Wing at Kirtland AFB.

In 2011, he was trained at the Defense Information School in Fort Meade, Maryland and five years later, he told stories of NMANG. While he served as an Air Guard, he covered many big events with the guard such as the coming and going of a number of Wing Commanders and also covered humanitarian missions with the 210th REDHORSE Squadron.

From August 2013 to January 2015, he held a position at the Air Force Safety Center Headquarters and he was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for outstanding video production. Furthermore, he worked at KRQE News Channel 13 in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he served as a Remotes Operator and Floor Director.

In addition, while he worked at KRQE, he gained experience as he learned the ins and outs of broadcast journalism while working both in front and behind the camera. He also worked with directors, reporters, producers, and anchors in a news team that kept up with a busy news region in New Mexico.  After working at KRQE, he later joined the KGWN team as a reporter.
