He joined Portland State University in September 1991 to pursue his career course. In June 1995, he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Speech Communication and Broadcast Journalism. In addition to his educational credentials, he joined San Francisco State University, College of Extended Learning, and majored in Sports Broadcasting in 1995 to further his education and graduated in 1997.
