While there, she served the station as a meteorologist for three years. She forecasted record-breaking winter snowfall and severe icing events across the Columbia Basin. During the summer of 2017, her morning team covered a fast-spreading wildfire and they earned an Emmy nomination. Upon college graduation, she interned with KOMO TV in Greater Seattle for one year and a month as a weather team.

While there, she worked one-on-one with several meteorologists to produce the local Seattle weather forecast and composed weather discussions for the company’s online weather blog. During her leisure time, she is an active lifestyle. She is a climber and mountaineer. Bayern has made the summit of the tallest peaks in Washington including Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier. She is planning to tackle the eight volcanic peaks that Oregon has to offer and is thrilled to be back in a city that feels like home.
