Alex Liggitt is an American meteorologist who is working for WJLA. He joined the StormWatch 7 weather team back in 2005.

Liggitt is the Weekend Morning Meteorologist for the StormWatch7 Weather Team and is a number one fan of the “Wolfpack.” While growing up, he was captivated by the weather at a young age and his love and passion for the weather began from there.
He attended North Carolina State University where he attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology in 2005. He finds his main attraction about the weather in severe thunderstorms, though he’ll be the first to tell you he’s terrified of lightning to this very day.
Liggitt has been living in D.C. for a very long time and an entire career here at ABC7, he has managed to get great respect for his mentor Doug Hill. He has also gained an enormous amount of experience forecasting for the region. Forecasting is what he loves the most about his career because D.C.’s terrain makes for all kinds of microclimates across the region — sometimes making a supposed benign day a tricky forecast. Even though thunderstorms are his favorite, he is always ready for a big snowstorm and was here around the clock for the record 56.1″ winter of 2009-2010.
