Alyssa Gomez Biography

Alyssa Gomez is an American journalist working for WDSU News as a reporter since joining the station in November 2025. Previously, she worked for KCCI 8 News, WDSU’s sister station in Des Moines, for over 2 years.

Gomez joined DePaul University in September 2020 after finishing her education at Joliet Catholic Academy. In 2023, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Public Relations.

While in college, she was involved with Radio DePaul and the DePaul Dance Team. She also anchored and reported for Good Day DePaul. She broadcast crime on campus, the overturning of Roe V. Wade, and Blue Demon Basketball.
