Amanda DeVoe is an American journalist working for News4JAX as a morning news and traffic anchor on The Morning Show since joining the station in March 2022. Previously, she worked for the CBS affiliate in Mobile, Alabama, WKRG, as a traffic anchor and reporter for 2 years.

DeVoe joined the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2011 after studying at Fayetteville State University. In 2013, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. Next, she joined DePaul University where she received her Master’s degree in Journalism.

She gave a voice to the voiceless including to Black-owned businesses which found their strength after coronavirus shutdowns and a young woman with cerebral palsy who finally secured a job.
DeVoe broke an exclusive story about three University of South Alabama professors who dressed in racially callous costumes that reappeared on Facebook multiple years later. Her story triggered student protests and administrative leave pending an investigation for the professors. She conversed with a Black cheerleader who stood against her fellow teammates who posed with a shirt with the confederate flag. Both stories attained national attention.
DeVoe started her career in Rockford, Illinois when she worked as a reporter and anchor. While there, she broadly reported on politics, education, and crime. She reported in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was a reporter and producer in Chicago.
DeVoe aspired to be a journalist because of telling stories that spotlight communities of color and hold the powerful responsible. She has always loved writing and she debuted her school newspaper in the 5th grade. Moreover, she realized her goal to work in broadcast news after a reporter visited her English class when she was a high school freshman.
DeVoe previously served NABJ’s Chicago Chapter as a board member and is currently an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists. During her free time, she volunteers in the community and is linked with multiple firms that assist at-risk children stay on the correct path.
