Amanda Hara is an American Emmy award-winning anchor working for WSMV-TV serving as an anchor and director of digital content. Previously, she served as an evening anchor and executive producer of digital content at WVLT-TV in Knoxville.

Shortly after finishing high school, Hara enrolled at Washington State University Edward R. Murrow College of Communications in August 2000. Three years later, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in August 2003. She was also involved with various organizations such as the WSU Equestrian Polo Team and Delta Delta Delta.

She joined the station in December 2022 working as a co-anchor of WSMV’s morning show alongside Holly Thompson. Earlier, Amanda worked at WVLT-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee as an evening anchor and executive producer of digital content. She anchored the newscast at 6, 10 pm, and 11 PM for nearly eleven years from February 2012 to January 2023.
Before working at WVLT-TV, Hara served as a news reporter at NewsChannel 5 Network in Nashville, Tennessee. For her excellent work, she was awarded numerous awards such as Emmy awards. She worked for the station for three years and four months from February 2009 to May 2012.
Amand previously spent two years working at WLEX-TV as a reporter. Her duties at the station were, tracking news and enhancing the quality of the magazine show “Keeneland Close-Up”. For her coverage reports on the historic Keeneland racetrack, she was honored with an Emmy award.
Hara began her journalism career as a reporter at WEHT/WTVW-TV in Evansville, Indiana. While there, she covered significant reports including the devastating tornado that killed 25 people. She also reported exclusive news including massive horse rescue, a homeless mother attending college, and a Nashville firefighter who was relapse by hazardous materials while working. Hara served the station for three years from February 2004 to February 2007.
