While at News on 6, she covered many big stories in Oklahoma that made national news. Including the death of Tulsa Police Officer Sergeant Craig Johnson. Craig was the first Tulsa police officer killed in the line of duty in 26 years. Moreover, Amy was on the scene of an oil rig explosion that killed five people in Quinton, Oklahoma in 2018.
She then covered the wrongful death lawsuit to follow the families of the victims filed against the oil and gas company. In the spring of 2019, she spent months covering devastating flooding in Eastern Oklahoma. Also, she was on the scene in Webber Falls in Muskogee County as two loose barges made their way down to Arkansas River. At KOTV, her reporting helped the station earn several Edward R. Murrow Awards: 2020 Region 6 Overall Excellence Winner, 2021, Regional Overall Excellence Winner, and 2021 Regional 6 Best Newscast, News on 6 at 10 PM.
