Andrew Rowan is an American reporter working for WCPO 9 News serving as a multimedia journalist. Previously, he worked as a multimedia journalist at WCSC-TV Live 5 News in Charleston.
Andrew Rowan Education
Rowan graduated from Moorestown Friends School in 2019 and attained a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University. He also received a minor in Business Institution and Data Science in 2023. While studying, he was hired as a social media manager & graphic designer at Rockhill Restaurant from December 2015 to July 2018.
After that, Andrew worked at WHYY-TV in Philadelphia as an intern. He was also responsible for cooperating with reporters and editors, and publishing website feature stories. Before working at WCSC-TV, Andrew spent one year and five months working as an executive producer and digital director at Northwestern News Network.
Andrew started his journalism career as an anchor and reporter at WNUR News in Evanston, Illinois. He serve the station for nine months from October 2019 to June 2020. After that, he secured a position as a digital content intern for six months at Northwestern Hillel. During his time there, Andrew was responsible for creating a variety of graphics and establishing a capital campaign booklet.
From there, Rowan moved and joined MSNBC News as a social media and digital editorial intern from June 2020 to December 2020. Later on, he was hired as a production intern working together with Alison Morris at NBC News. As an intern, Andrew was in charge of pitching and covering stories such as the medical marijuana trends and the loss of vaccine cards. In addition to this, he also worked as a reporter at Newspaper Media Group in Southern New Jersey.
