After graduating from college, she began working for WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina, as an anchor, reporter, and video journalist.
Kooiman spent 2 years in Wilmington before moving to Toledo, Ohio, where she was a morning anchor and reporter for the local NBC affiliate, WNWO. While still in Toledo, she was a franchise reporter for a partnership with U.S. Marshals that helped capture more than100 fugitives
Kooiman returned to North Carolina in May 2008 as an anchor, host, and reporter for Fox News Rising, a four-hour news and entertainment morning show on WCCB. There, she reported on local news stories, weather, entertainment, and traffic.
2011 to present;
Kooiman began working as a New York-based correspondent and general assignment reporter for FNC in December 2011. In this role, she covered health and fitness and hosted the weekend morning show.
Kooiman also worked as an anchor for nchor of the morning show franchise, FOX & Friends Weekend. She provided coverage for the terror attacks in San Bernardino, California, and Orlando, Florida. She also went out in the elements during major weather events such as tornadoes in Moore, Superstorm Sandy, and the U.S. blizzard in 2016.
Kooiman also broadcast the debates for the GOP primary in Detroit. She has worked as a host of the All-American New Year for FNC. She toured the United States for her “Roadtrip with Anna Kooiman” franchise, which took viewers around, checking off bucket-list items.
Kooiman left New York to start a family, moving to Australia with her husband in September 2016. There, she worked as a substitute anchor and panelist on Australia’s Network Ten news programs, Studio 10 and The Project.
