Anthony Wilson is an American Anchor/Reporter working for ABC11 where he serves as the co-anchor of the Eyewitness News every morning on weekends. He has been working for the station since joining in 1993.

Wilson serves as the co-anchor of the Eyewitness News every morning on weekends. Also, he reports the Eyewitness News and abc11.com every morning, from Monday to Friday. He previously worked for WXII 12 News where he served as a reporter and fill-in-anchor from March 1990 to July 1993 in Winston-Salem in North Carolina.

During his time at WXII-TV, he was awarded the Best Feature award from the Associated Press for his series of reports on gospel music in North Carolina called “A Joyful Noise.” Prior to that, he worked for WBGO| Jazz 88.3 FM where he served as an on-air host from 1982 to 1987.

Wilson has also managed to enclose well-known stories and events that hit the headlines all across the states and beyond. Some of the stories include the manufacture and marketing of assault weapons, filed a series of documentaries about the Miami riots, homelessness in South Florida, and the “Official English” movement.

In addition to that, he also some time working at WINS in New York City and the National Public Radio weekly newsmagazine “Crossroads,” where he served as the anchor/host. Furthermore, he also worked for the national communications office of the Episcopal Church and served as an electronic media producer. During his time here, he went to South Africa to enclose the enthronement of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Wilson is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists, lead instructor of NABJ’s annual four-day short course, and former broadcast vice-president of the Triangle Association of Black Journalists. He went to St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York where he attained his Bachelor of Arts and English.
