Ashlyn Webb is an American journalist working for WFTV as an investigative reporter since joining the station in July 2023. Previously, she worked as a weekend evening anchor and investigative reporter at the CBS affiliate in Macon, 13 WMAZ for 4 years.

Webb joined the UGA School of Public and International Affairs 2016 when she finished her studies at Carrollton High School. She also enrolled at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. In December 2019, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and International Affairs. During college, she attended the Cox Institute Levin Leaders Program.
Webb began reporting in Macon while in college, starting out as an on-air part-time during her final year of college. Further, she interned at FOX 5 in Atlanta and was a contributor to a Peabody awarded series that exposed how bad arrests were made due to false positive readings on police roadside drug tests in Georgia.

She served the CBS affiliate in Macon, 13 WMAZ, as an investigative reporter and the weekend evening anchor. During her time in Macon, she covered local and state elections, Macon’s altering homicide rate, a president’s visit, and lawsuits in the national spotlight.
Webb won two regional Edward R. Murrow awards for best news series and continuing broadcast in 2023 for her reporting. She won an Emmy nomination for one of her investigative pieces. She exposed how parked Norfolk Southern trains hindered first responders from assisting people during life-or-death situations in a small Georgia town.
Webb is passionate about keeping government and records open and protecting press freedoms. She worked as the president of the Georgia chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2021. In this role, she led to the development of a curriculum to teach law enforcement on journalists’ first amendment rights via a collaboration of the organization and the Georgia First Amendment Foundation and Georgia Public Safety Training Center. She responded to two journalists who were detained in Atlanta in 2020 while broadcasting protests.
