In his role as a national program manager for the NWS, Alexander redrafted the Flash Flood, Severe Local Storms, and Spotter Training programs for the NWS. Additionally, he spearheaded the interagency Hurricane Andrew Disaster Survey. The report led to notable changes to engineering necessities for manufactured housing.

While working as the deputy chief of environmental and scientific services in the Alaksa region, Alexander spearheaded the Aviation and Fire Weather programs. In addition to that role, he worked as the country’s first volcanic ash program manager. In this role, he spearheaded the World Meteorological Organization to generate a universal lexicon for categorizing and calibrating volcanic ash eruption intensity.

After his government career, Alexander shifted to broadcast meteorologist and joined the ABC affiliate in Victoria, Texas as the chief meteorologist. During his career, he has won many big awards and certifications. For example, he won two Department of Commerce Bronze Medals for outstanding leadership. He holds the National Weather Association’s Seal of Broadcast Meteorology, the American Meteorological Society’s (AMS) Radio Broadcast Seal of Approval, and the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation.
