Taylor Alanis Biography
Taylor Alanis is an American journalist working for KRIS as the weekday morning anchor and multi-media journalist since joining the station in August 2021. Previously, she worked in Corpus Christi, Texas as a weekend anchor and reporter for 3 and a half years.

Alanis joined the University of Texas at San Antonio when she finished her high school education. She then transferred to Texas State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication emphasizing Electronic Media with a minor in Criminal Justice.

Alanis works for KRIS as the weekday morning anchor and multi-media journalist. During her time at the station, she has also worked as an interim investigative reporter for eight months and anchored anchor of a brand new 60-minute 4 p.m. newscast. She has received several honors for her work including a Lonestar Emmy nomination and an Associated Press Award. Recently, she was a finalist for a Texas Associated Broadcaster’s Award.
Alanis’ passion for journalism comes from her love of the community, highlighting people that make a difference, and being a voice for the voiceless. She worked her first reporting job in Waco-Temple-Killeen for two years. There, she broadcasted the aftereffects of two Fort Hood shootings, an I-35 bridge collapse, and the Twin Peaks Biker Massacre.
Recently, she won nominations for her continuous broadcast of less and claims of malpractice at the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office. The report brought an important change that profited the Coastal Bend community. In 2022, she won the inaugural Real Men Wear Pink and the American Cancer Society’s Dancing with the Coastal Bend. The League of United Latin American Citizens Council recognized her in May 2023 during their Outstanding Community Leaders dinner.
