Additionally, he was awarded for his work on a 30-minute documentary about the first deployment of Texas National Guard members to Iraq. Churchwell also got two days at Fort Hood to interview soldiers and to deliver their messages to their West Texas families. He had solid principles working as a journalist and cared for the people he met and the stories he reported.
In 2005, Churchwell emerged and expanded across the United States to the West region, more specifically to the ridiculously nick-named Biggest Little City in the World; Reno, Nevada. There, he covered national breaking news stories, which enraged the nation including wildfire in Nevada and Lake Tahoe, California. It was his work tenacity and willingness to bring stories to viewers regardless of difficulties that depicted him.
Churchwell now has the pleasure of claiming Corpus Christi as his own since he enhances himself at 3News where he probes into news that touches the lives of his neighbors securing himself several distinguished accolades. Notably, the Headliners Foundation awarded him the best reporter in Texas in 2017 with the Charles E turned Green award. Besides journalism Churchwell likes to spend time with his friends, and travel; he also goes to movies in theatres.
