Brad Byrd is an American journalist working for WEHT/WTVW as an anchor of Eyewitness News at 5, 6, and 10 p.m. on WEHT 25 and on Eyewitness News at 9 on WTVW 7. He joined in January 1987 and has served the station for more than 4 decades.

Byrd was inducted into the Indiana Broadcasters Fairbanks Hall of Fame in 2016 and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Gold Circle in 2022. He won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Writing. He worked as the producer of a special report surrounding the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of their demise.

Byrd received the Best Community Volunteer and News Personality awards from the Courier & Press. He previously was the president of the local American Heart Association Board. He serves as the co-founder of Cruising for Hearts alongside his wife. For this achievement, he won the AHA’s Heart of Life Honor.
Byrd won the United Way’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in various Tri-state charities. His columns about community matters and media earned features in the Evansville Courier & Press for multiple years. Moreover, he has worked as a contributor for Evansville Living magazine.
