Brad Pautsch Biography

Brad Pautsch is an American journalist currently working as the Sports Director at KTIV-TV. Pautsch was named Sports Director in 1996 after serving as a weekend sports anchor at KTIV since May of 1990.

Brad earned his high school diploma from Crestland High School in Early, Iowa, in 1984. He got his first taste of broadcasting while at Iowa State University, where he worked as a news and sports reporter for KASI radio.

Brad has won several awards at KTIV, including the Iowa Broadcast News Association’s “Best Sportscast” in 2004, 2012, and 2013 and first place for “Sports Reporting” in 2007 for his series on the Crestland Cadets football team. In 2004, 2009, and 2010, he received the IBNA award for best sports “Play by Play.”

On October 10, 1954, KTIV first began broadcasting. The station has always been an NBC affiliate, but until September 2, 1967, it shared ABC programming with KVTV/KCAU-TV. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, KTIV had a brief affiliation with the NTA Film Network.

In the Sioux City, Iowa, market, KTIV is an NBC affiliate. The Perkins Brothers Company originally owned the station, as well as the Sioux City Journal and KSCJ radio. KTIV’s newscasts began broadcasting in high definition in June 2011. Gray Television announced the purchase of Quincy Media for $925 million on February 1, 2021. Because AFLAC merged with Raycom Media in 1997, it would reunite KTIV with some former AFLAC sister stations.
