Brad Pautsch Biography

Brad Pautsch is an American anchor and reporter working at KTIV where he serves as a sports director a position he took up in 1996. He joined KTIV in May 1990, as a weekend sports anchor.

Siouxlanders is Pautsch’s native home and he attended Crestland High School in Early, Iowa where he graduated with a diploma in 1984. Later on, he joined Iowa State University where he graduated with a bachelor of arts in journalism, and while he was at the university, he worked for the KASI radio as a news and sports reporter.

While working at KTIV he has received a number of awards such as the Best Sportscast in 2013, 2012, and 2004 from the Iowa Broadcast News Association. In 2007, the IBNA awarded him the 1st place award for his series on the Crestland Cadets football team.  In 2004, 2009, and 2010. Brad the IBNA awarded him the Play by Play best sports award. During his downtime, he enjoys playing basketball and baseball.

What happened to Brad Pautsch Cancer

On January 6, 2023, KTIV announced that Pautsch’s brain cancer is back after a quite long time. Pautsch also revealed the same thing on his social media, saying that being “cancer-free” for more than one year is pretty good. He stated that his brain cancer has moved to a different place, meaning his 1st treatment worked! Pautsch also stated that he is working on battling it with docs at the Mayo Clinic in Sioux City and that the same chemotherapy that he did on his first treatment will be done also this time round, but at a lower dose.

He was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor for the first time on March 11, 2021, and had to schedule a major surgery. He had his surgery 4 days after the diagnosis. On March 11, 2022, he celebrated his first-year cancer-free anniversary. However, he has been working hard in his speech therapy and rehabilitation since his first treatment.
